It’s been a busy start to 2018 for all of us at the 2 Birds, as furniture orders have been coming in daily which means there’s never nothing to do for any of us and there’s always a new project and challenge that we’re embracing with our work and dedication to our customers looking for that perfect piece to liven up their homes.
When we’re not at it in the back building or interacting with customers, we’ve been on the road promoting 2 Birds at two of five trade shows we’re currently registered in.
Trade Show #1 didn’t go as planned as we were set to attend the Kelowna Home & Garden Show on February 10-11 but… with this record amount snow this winter, we had our bags packed and ready to go but when we started our journey it didn’t last long as roads to Kelowna through the Roger’s Pass and Highway 3 were closed so we had no choice but to stay home.

We finally started our trade show circuit with the Calgary Home & Garden Show March 1-4 as we got all set-up and ready for four days at the largest trade show of the year and once again mother nature decided to visit us as well with another snow storm! When the doors opened Thursday we had great first day followed by another bout of snowmegeddon on Friday which didn’t bring as much foot traffic as we thought but when the weekend hit, no snow can keep people from getting started on their latest projects and ideas. We had plenty visitors who had seen our work or heard and came with plans in hand from sketches to full fledged plans for our feature line products. It was a great event and our booth set-up caught eyes of many at the show, as our booth was nominated for the “Best 10 X 10 Booth” and we couldn’t have pulled off our booth’s elegance without the support of our local contributors. Cedar & Sage Farm provided our unique decor along with Natasha Harms’ artwork display and Eagle Forge for providing us with custom forged hour glass legs. We want thank the Calgary Home & Garden Show for having us and we can’t wait for 2019!
Our 3rd show had us make the trek up Highway 2 where we set up shop at the Red Deer Home Show on March 9-11 at Westerner Park and once again we were thrilled with the response we had from attendees coming in and having close look at our line of work.
Safe to say it’s been a hectic few weeks but we wouldn’t want to have it any other way. We still have two more shows to attend in April starting with the Okotoks Trade & Lifestyle Show on April 20-21 at the Okotoks Rec Centre, we will be very involved with this show in our host community as Clint & Gino are both members of the Board of Directors for the Okotoks & District Chamber of Commerce, there will be vendor demos this year with a stage doing demonstrations on a variety of topics including a presentation from 2 Birds as we will be showing a “How To Install A Feature Wall” demo. We will be presenting on April 21st at 2 PM till 2:30. If you can’t make the demonstration, we will broadcast them on our FaceBook & Instagram Live Pages.
Our final trade show will be in Airdrie at the Genesis Centre April 28-29 before we hit the spring and summer grind. At our booths at both shows coming up we will be providing anyone that inquires about our product a free estimate on site and especially in April if you order a barn door using the Promo Code BIGBIRD30 your installation is absolutely free of charge.
In more 2 Birds news, we have a number of new innovative designs coming up in our Spring 2018 Product Line, as well in the month of May we will be giving away a trip to Las Vegas!!!
